Our performances:

a symphony of community and joy

Step into the world of The Village Voices, where every performance is more than just a concert – it's an experience. We pride ourselves on creating memorable musical moments, filled with a varied repertoire, special guests, and heartwarming audience participation. Discover the passion, talent, and community spirit that makes our performances truly unique.

Varied sounds, shared smiles

What truly sets The Village Voices concert apart is our dedication to variety. We craft a diverse musical content, ensuring a rich repertoire that delights both our audience and our singers. Our concerts frequently feature talented soloists and guest groups, adding unique flavours to our musical tapestry. We actively encourage audience participation, particularly engaging children, making each event a truly inclusive and enjoyable experience for all ages.

Singing for our community

Our friendly spirit shines through in every performance location and event we support. Village Voices proudly performs at the 'Saturday Club' at Shoebury Baptist Church, leading two concerts annually. We actively support St Nicholas Church Great Wakering with their cherished 'Last Night at the Proms' concert each year, and during the festive season with 'Christmas Carols in the Churchyard'. The Community Centre (old school) in Great Wakering hosts two of our concerts each year, and we are often involved in various other community events throughout the year. Our busy Christmas season includes visits to care homes in smaller groups and entertaining at the Southend Bowls Club, a firm favourite for supporting our friends there.

Heartwarming memories and musical delights

We cherish many heartwarming memories from our past performances. A particular highlight was in 2023 when we welcomed The Festive Brass band to join us for our Christmas concert. This collaboration was so successful that, by popular request, they returned in 2025 to wow us again with their incredible musical talent. In 2023, we were delighted to feature Viola soloist Tom Waters, who is now pursuing a career and continued study in music performance. Our concerts are also known for their delightful, hilarious moments, often involving puppets, props, and playful percussion, adding a unique charm to our shows.

When you attend or consider joining Village Voices, we hope you feel the dedication and passion we pour into performing music well, always striving to give our audience a fantastic experience. We believe in interaction across all age groups, fostering a truly welcoming and engaging environment.
